本調查之目的在延續2008 年執行的墾丁春季過境猛禽族群量調查，以持續累積該 長期監看資料。調查期間為2009/03/10~2009/05/05，每日至少調查8 小時，共計57 日。結果共記錄2 科13 種遷移性猛禽及3 種留棲性猛禽，其中以赤腹鷹22,320 隻、灰 面鵟鷹11,041 隻數量最多。灰面鵟鷹的高峰期在03/21~03/24、赤腹鷹的最大量出現在 04/25。在紀錄時間方面，灰面鵟鷹整個白天每個時段都有紀錄，但9 時起才有大量出 現，最大量出現在17~18 時；赤腹鷹則有80% 以上是在上午8 時以前記錄到，判斷為 前一夜在此夜棲後清晨起鷹的群體。在紀錄地點方面，灰面鵟鷹以西海岸紀錄最多， 佔總數的69.2%，單一地點以關山最多；赤腹鷹也是以西海岸紀錄最多，佔總數的 78.8%，單一地點以射寮涼亭最多。

This ground survey was carried out in spring 2009 in Kenting National Park to continue monitoring the amount and temporal pattern of migratory raptors, particularly the Gray-faced buzzards (Butastur indicus) and Chinese Goshawks (Accipiter soloensis). Survey period was 57 days long from March 10 to May 5. In total, 13 species of migratory raptors were recorded. The most numerous were 22,320 Chinese Goshawks and 11,041 Gray-faced Buzzards, both were new highest spring records in Kenting. The peak date of passage for Chinese Goshawk was 04/25 while the peak period for Grey-faced Buzzard was 03/21~03/24. The peak hour of passage in a day was before 8 o’clock for Chinese Goshawk and 17 to 18 o’clock for Grey-faced Buzzard. Among 3 coastal parts of Kenting, the western coast had the most amounts for both Chinese Goshawk and Grey-faced Buzzard. The best single survey site was Guanshan for Grey-faced Buzzard and Sheliao for Chinese Goshawk.
