墾丁地區為台灣秋季日行性遷移性猛禽主要觀察地點,墾丁國家公園管理處已進 行超過20 年之調查監看。其中2004 年起開始委託台灣猛禽研究會執行本調查計畫, 並於2008 年起增加春季遷移猛禽的地面調查。春季調查期自03/06 至05/05,每日皆 進行調查。由於猛禽北返的數量與時間不如秋季集中,將國家公園範圍劃分為3 區, 由3 名調查員進行地面同步調查,每日至少進行10 小時,記錄過境猛禽之時間、種 類、數量、飛行方式等。結果本年度共記錄遷移性猛禽2 科17 種,以赤腹鷹36,570 隻、灰面鵟鷹10,542 隻數量最多。赤腹鷹的過境期較過去2 年紀錄延遲約6~9 天,灰 面鵟鷹過境期日數則較過去2 季略增。灰面鵟鷹主要紀錄在13:00~18:00;赤腹鷹則有 75% 的族群記錄於09:00 前。紀錄地點方面,與過去兩年相近,以西海岸數量最多, 包括75.4% 的灰面鵟鷹及72.7% 的赤腹鷹。2011 年人力配置與2010 年相同,但東海 岸及南海岸紀錄比例下降,可見每年春季遷移情形及族群數量並非依固定模式。赤腹 鷹及灰面鵟鷹的過境期,年間仍有不同差異,未來除了持續進行地面調查以監看族群 量的變化外,包括雷達及氣象等可能影響因子,都可再深入探究。而特殊的猛禽數量 變化,如鵟的春季紀錄數量由2010 年的9 隻增加至2011 年的31 隻,是否起因於低溫 影響,未來亦可持續觀察。

英文摘要

Kenting National Park is the most important site for monitoring autumn raptor migration in Taiwan. Since 2004, RRGT was responsible for conducting this survey. In 2008, the survey had expanded to include both spring and autumn migrations. The 2011 spring survey was conducted from March 6th through May 5th. On each day, 3 counters stationed at 3 different points surveyed simultaneously for at least 10 hours. 17 species of migratory raptors were recorded this season. The most numerous 2 species were Chinese Goshawk (Accipiter soloensis) and Greyfaced Buzzard (Butastur indicus), with total numbers of 36,570 and 10,542 respectively. Daily peak passage hours for Gray-faced Buzzards were from 13:00 to 18:00, and more than 75% of Chinese Goshawks were observed between 05:00 and 09:00. Of the eastern, southern and western coastal areas, western coast had the most sightings, including 75.4% of all Gray-faced Buzzards and 72.7% of all Chinese Goshawks. Near the western coast survey point, we found some night roosting sites with great numbers of raptors. For the other survey points, numbers and routes of migratory raptors changed from year to year. We are still looking for other potential roosting sites or passways in this area. In future we will incorporate meteorology and weather radar data to help analyze ground survey data.
