傷寒論厥陰病為腎衰竭綜合症，主要內容分尿毒症，急性腎衰竭，與慢性腎衰竭等三個部份。尿毒症的治療，僅烏梅丸一方，而瓜蒂散是治尿毒肺。慢性腎衰竭多為太陽病慢性腎炎遷延日久不癒所造成，在慢性病變過程，因嚴重感染之下利，或因少陰病休克、或因敗血症，或因腎中毒而引起急性腎衰竭者多，但鮮少有治療的方劑，僅白虎湯和四逆湯而已。慢性腎臟衰竭的治療以當歸四逆湯加吳茱萸生薑主治，慢性腎臟衰竭併體液負荷過多以茯苓甘草湯主治，慢性腎衰竭引起過敏性休克以通脈四逆湯主治，慢性腎衰竭併腎性高血壓以吳茱萸湯主治，慢性腎衰竭併熱利以白頭翁主治。

Reverting yin disease is a renal failure syndrome in Shang-han Lun. The content of reverting yin disease is divided three parts of uremia, acute renal failure, and chronic renal failure. The treated formula of uremia is only Mume Pill and Melon-Stalk Powder is treated uremic lung. Chronic renal failure resulted from chronic nephritis persistent unhealed in Greater yang disease. In the chronic change process, it may be caused acute renal failure owing severe infection of diarrhea, shock of lesser yin disease, sepsis or kidney intoxication. The therapeutic decoctions of acute renal failure in Reverting yin disease were only White Tiger Decoction and Counterflow Cold Decoction. The treatment of chronic renal failure was governed with Chinese Angelica Counterflow Cold Decoction Plus Evodia and Fresh Ginger. The chronic renal failure with body fluid overloading was govern treatment with Poria and Licorice Decoction. Allergic shock from chronic renal failure was governed with Vessel-Freeing Counterflow Cold Decoction. Evodia Decoction was governing treated renal hypertension from chronic renal failure. The chronic renal failure combined heat dysentery which governs with Pulsatilla Decoction treat.
