本文旨在探討唐傳奇(薛偉〉他魚故事中所蘊含「死」與「生」的象徵，就其入夢求涼、魚服化魚、魚服人心以至於出夢等階段，討論薛偉從人夢到化魚之中各個環節所隱含對於「生」與「死」的探索與意義。並透過對「魚服」的解析，觀看其以「服」所彰顯出死生的雙面性，既而探討其中以魚、服做為化魚示現的用意，進而觀看從魚服人心的矛盾中，如何展現出對於死/生對立這既定價值的思考，最後透過魚服夢境回歸之後所帶來的歷練與啟悟，歸結出(薛偉〉故事所展現對死亡以及永生的思索，試圖勾勒出(薛偉〉故事的寓意與反思，對(薛偉〉故事演繹出不同的思考。

This paper aims to discuss the Tang Short Fiction "Xue Wei" , a man into a fish, that contains the symbols of "dead" and "life". First, With regard to the stage of "entering dream", "into a fish" and "wake up", which discuss its symbolism and significance. Second, analyze and explain why use "Wear clothes of fish" to mean "be a fish", to understand the "clothing" metaphor in the story "the double meaning of death and life". Xue Wei into a fish but his consciousness still be a human, It reflects on the old ideas "Death and life are on opposite sides", and we can see that old ideas changes by into a fish in the dream. Finally, return from a dream of Into a fish and fmd the enlightenment, and it shows the reflective thinking to the death and eternal life. In the end, "Xue Wei" show about the value of death versus life and the Reflective thinking.
