《儒林外史》中，士人嚮往名士的生活，亟欲成為名士，固然有個人私欲、友人鼓吹之故，最主要還是受到社會價值的影響，本文欲從文本分析探究《儒林外史》描述假名士現象之旨趣。

In "Ju Lin Wai Shih", scholar yearn the life of celebrities and want to become celebrities, because personal desire and friends encourage, the main factor is social value. This paper discuss the purport of "Ju Lin Wai Shih" describe the false celebrities phenomena by text analysis.
