當代社會經濟問題，充滿了許多的複雜性與動態性，但隨著專業知識分工愈分愈細的趨勢下，社會多元化的思想已成為必然之結果。專業分工在邏輯實證論者以其為科學主流方法自居之下，確實創造許多新的學問與知識。然而，專業分工愈細的結果，導致專家的視野愈來愈窄，使得彼此間的對話與溝通更形困難，是故，知識整合成為當代最重要之議題。因此，解決當代社會經濟問題，急需要以宏觀的角度，進行系統思考來提供整體觀之配套政策與作法，以解決社會科學研究者與政策決策者之困境。

The modern socio-economic problems are getting more and more complex and dynamic. As the trend of professional specification, the diversified thoughts are necessary to analyze such socio-economic problems. Indeed, the professional specification that is claimed as the main methodology of science by the logical positivists has created a lot of research subfields. However, the over-detailed specification has led to the narrower vision of the specialists, which makes the communication between specialists of different subfields more and more difficult. As a result, the integration of such specific knowledge becomes one of the most important issues nowadays. In this note we argue that to resolve the modern socio-economic problems faced by social science researchers and policymakers, we need to utilize the Systems Thinking with holistic view, instead of over-detailed specification knowledge, to provide a complete set of policies.
