本文以「閱讀山水：文本與圖像之間」為題，目的不在於按詩文圖像對照關係閱讀詩畫作品的文化符碼意涵，或山水圖像的意識形態價值，而在於探討山水在詩畫作品在閱讀文字與圖像間的美學意涵。本文所關懷的是中國詩畫藝術中的山水圖像在作為文類範疇標簽、政治符碼、地圖標記、甚至意識形態的價值評估之外的意義，並探討在山水藝術作品的閱讀中，山水未知、隱匿、無所為的存在動力與意義投向。

This paper aims to study the aesthetic meanings of reading landscape in painting and in poetry. It will point out that reading is not a negative activity subjected to creative action, but a process of renaming. Reading landscape does not consist only in looking for the specificity of landscape as a cultural sign, but to rehabilitate the forgotten difference and desire in the established texts and images of landscape. This paper will demonstrate how the unknown landscape has been transformed to label of literary genre, social-political sign, topological index, or collective ideology in writing and in painting. Besides, the possibility of rediscovering the vital force in the projection of the meaning of landscape which is solitude, the unknown, and the hidden, will be the main concern of this paper.
