英文摘要

The purpose of this study is to understand the relationship between satisfaction with setting attributes (relating to both the physical setting and activity facilities) and place attachment in biking activities. Data was collected on-site from bikers on the Love River Line and the West Side Harbor Line bike paths in Kaohsiung using convenience sampling from March to August 2010. With 500 questionnaires distributed, a total of 348 valid questionnaires were received. Descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis were used to analyze the data in SPSS 17.0. The results found that satisfaction with physical setting attributes has a positive and significant influence on place attachment, accounting for 35.6% of the variance of the dependent variable (R square= .356). In contrast, satisfaction with setting attributes related to activity facilities did not have a significant influence on place attachment. The results of this study indicate that the dependence and identity of bikers from the Love River bike path is driven by bikers’ satisfaction with the physical setting attributes of the path. The results could be a useful reference for industry and government involved in the operations and management of bike paths.
