周法高先生是一位學貫中西、繼往開來的語言學大家和名家，在中國現代語言學史上佔有崇高的地位，成就卓著，尤以音韻學、古文字學和古漢語語法學著稱，對於中國現代語言學的研究與發展，起到了積極的推動作用，享譽海內外學術界。本文簡要評介了他的生平和學術經歷，擇要評述了他在音韻學、古文字學、古漢語語法學以及其他方面的學術論著及其學術貢獻。

Professor Chou Fa-Kao was a versatile master on Chinese linguistics. His profound knowledge on both Eastern and Western linguistics and his valuable research findings made him one of the major figures in the modern history of Chinese Linguistics. Because of his great contributions to the phonology, archaic Chinese script and historical Chinese grammar, Professor Chou earned high reputation in related academic circles worldwide. His studies greatly stimulated the development of many fields of Chinese studies. This article first makes a brief introduction of Professor Chou’s life and his academic achievements, and then summarizes and evaluates his writings in the fields of phonology, archaic Chinese script and historical Chinese grammar on the purpose of proving his great contributions.
