近年來，由於電腦與通訊技術的快速發展，各種新媒體更是如雨後春筍般地 出現，迅速地傳達各項資訊，在這個充滿媒體的資訊社會裏，大學圖書館在面對 新媒體的衝擊下，爲了維護其在大學裏原有的重要角色，在行動上必須改變以往 靜態、被動的服務爲積極、主動提供資源的服務；在資料的收藏範圍上亦必須容 納更多的資訊時代產物，才能夠確實地協助與提供教學和研究活動。 本文試圖從視聽媒體在教學與學習上所扮演的角色和視聽（媒體）中心的服 務層次，闡明在資訊與多媒體時代裏，大學圖書館視聽（媒體）中心的定位與任 務，以及其所應達成的服務層次。此外，並以國立臺灣大學圖書館新館所規劃的 視聽服務爲例，來探討未來大學圖書館視聽服務的新方向。

The rapid development of computer and telecommunication technology, together with the appearance of such new media as CD-ROM, VCD, interactive software, cause great impact on our society. In this age of information and multimedia, university libraries must provide new media collections and services to meet the demands of teaching, learning and research. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the kinds of audio-visual and media services that the university library should provide. The author will first mention the importance of AV and media resources in instructional process; an introduction on the role of university library media center;fmally a detailed description of the future planning of media services in the library of National Taiwan University.
