目前國内大學校史檔案館的功能，大抵仍停留在闢室收藏與展覽珍貴校務 史料，靜態供眾參觀的階段；尚未全面庋藏校園各類型校史資料，進而編目索 引，以供大學史事研究。本文從以下各點淺論一完善大學校史館所應具備的功 能：成立的宗旨、組織與人員、館藏資料、檔案管理的作業與服務，最後並簡 略提出對國立臺灣大學成立校史檔案館的建議。

Nowadays, the university archives still play a very traditional role within Taiwan's universities. They preserve and display precious documents and archives of the history of the University only. The functions of university archives can be expanded. In this article, the author briefly discusses the mission, organization and staff, holdings, archives processing techniques and services of university archives and provides suggestions to National Taiwan University on how to establish the University Archives in an active way.
