本篇文章就二個部分:(1)飲食、(2)適當的活動,來給予攝護腺癌病人提供生活上的建議。在飲食 方面,番茄中的茄紅素,花椰菜中的蘿蔔硫素,綠茶中的兒茶素、益多酚、表茶兒素,豆類植物中的異 黃酮,石榴汁中的鞣花單寧,魚肉中的多元不飽和脂肪酸;其他營養補給或藥物如維他命D、硼、阿司匹林、降膽固醇藥物statin類藥物及第二型糖尿病的治療藥物metformin,可降低攝護腺癌的發生率,或 是抑制癌細胞的生長。在活動方面,研究顯示運動可以降低攝護腺癌發生率,且身體質量指數(body mass index, BMI)超過三十以上的肥胖男性可能會有較高的攝護腺癌風險。因此,適當的飲食補充及運動,有助於預防攝護腺癌並改善其預後。

英文摘要

This article offered some lifestyle suggestions for prostate cancer patients in two parts: (1) dietary supplement; (2) moderate exercise. As to dietary supplement, lycopene in Tomato, sulforaphane in broccoli, catechin, epigallocatechin gallate(EGCG) and epicatechin in green tea, isoflavones in soybeans, ellagitannins in pomegranate juice, polyunsaturated fats in fish, vitamin D, boron, aspirin, statins and metformin have been proved to decrease the incidence of prostate cancer, or to suppress the growth of cancer cells. As to moderate exercise, studies have shown that it can lower the incidence of prostate cancer. Obese male with body mass index (BMI) over 30 kg/m2 may also suffer from higher risk of getting prostate cancer. One should keep exercising for 30 minutes a day and do weight exercise at least once or twice a week. He should also pay as much attention to his cholesterol as to his serum prostatic specific antigen (PSA) level. In summary, adequate dietary supplement and exercise can help to prevent prostate cancer and to improve the prognosis.
