本研究採文獻分析法與問卷調查法蒐集相關資訊，除分析專門圖書館員學 科背景、工作表現與工作滿意度之相關文獻且加以彙整外，並利用問卷調查法 進行館員意見之蒐集，分析館員學科背景的完整性，與其對學科背景的看法、 工作表現及工作滿意度三者間之關連，並就研究結果歸納結論且提出七項建議， 以作為母機構遴選和培訓人員之參考。

The study uses two methods to collect related information about this issue. One is literature review, the other is questionnaire survey. It not only organizes documentations within the following topics: special librarian^ educational background, work performance and job satisfaction, but also applies questionnaire survey method to obtain the opinions of these issues from librarians. Based on the above information and survey results, the paper analyzes the relationship between educational background, work performance and job satisfaction, and proposes seven suggestions for research libraries to serve as a reference instruction on acquiring and training staffs in the future.
