Many nomenclatural changes on Taiwan Hepaticae and lots of new additions have been reported since Lai and Wang-Yang published Index Bryoflorae Formosensis in 1976. Till now no bryoflora of Taiwan has been put ou t, more efforts must be made by the native bryologists. In order to make ease the identifications and promote the interest in studying local flora of Taiwan, the authors have compiled this index. The published literatures since 1897 to current year are consulted, nomenclatural changes follow the monographical and revisional work of late. 124 genera and 55 7 tax a totally are listed in this index.
