魏晉南北朝以來，由於政治的紛擾與政權的更迭，造成世族必須在「國事」與「家事」之中做出抉擇。當時世族雖多以保家為主要思考重點，但就其過程而言，必曾在「國」與「家」、「忠」與「孝」之間有過掙扎與取捨。本文以《顏氏家訓》作者顏之推為探究對象，試圖從中了解此一轉折與變化。仕於南朝梁、西魏、北齊、北周以至於隋朝時期的他，在由梁轉進到北朝之際，如何適應不同的政治環境？在《顏氏家訓》中所表達的忠孝觀是否亦曾落實於人生之中？在面臨家族存續下，其所做出的行為又為何？本文將藉由其一生而三化的政治與生活經歷，探討其思想及行為背後的意義。

Since Wei, Jin, Northern and Southern Dynasties, due to political disturbances and alternative regimes, Shizu(世族) needs to make choices between “national affairs” and “domestic affairs”. Though Shizu tends to regard “domestic affairs” as the main duty, as far as its process is concerned, there might have struggles and choices between whether “country or home” and “loyalty or filial piety”. This content targets Zhitui Yan(顏之推)--the author of the book named Yanshijiaxun(顏氏家訓) as an object of the study that tries to realize the variation and transition toward above-mentioned dilemmas. From Nanchaoleong(南朝梁), Shiwei(西魏), Baychi(北齊), Baychou(北周) to Sui(隋), how does Zhitui Yan adapt to different political conditions when the Leong(梁) turns into Northern Dynasties(北朝).Whether the notion of filial piety mentioned in Yanshijiaxun really being practiced in the real human life? And how does he act when confronting with the eternal existence of the whole clan? This content is going to discuss about his philosophy and the meanings behind his actions which are based on his life experiences as well as his political career via several dynasties he has once stayed in his lifelong time.
