齊梁時代僧人釋僧祐所撰集之護教作品《弘明集》,以及唐初釋道宣編纂的《廣弘明集》,是研究中國中古佛道二教關係史的重要史料,然而針對這兩部史料進行全面分析的專著仍不多見。本文著眼於《弘明集》、《廣弘明集》的代表性,希冀藉由對其中佛道論難過程的整理,以爬梳道教思想的主要變化情形。在《弘明集》、《廣弘明集》所反映出的道教教義變遷過程中,可以發現道教在教義出現逐漸走出早期的練養服食思想,轉向構築自身生成論與心性論的趨勢;以及在一邊汲取佛教的思想養分時,也試圖在道家傳統的思想基礎上,建構自身完足的教義體系的努力。

英文摘要

Hong Ming Ji(《弘明集》) is a Buddhist compilation by the monk Seng You(僧祐;455-518) in Southern Liang Dynasty, collecting the records about how Buddhists responded to the critics from Confucian intellectuals and Daoists in early Medieval China. After one hundred years, another monk Dao Xuan(道宣;596-667) edited Guang Hong Ming Ji(《廣弘明集》), which showed the consistent position with Seng You’s work. Both of these two compilations contain many Buddhist texts which aimed to criticize Daoism in various aspects, especially the religious superiority in the Medieval China. This article tries to research on the major changes of Taoist thought by analyzing the records about the debates in Hong Ming Ji and Guang Hong Ming Ji, and considers how Taoists responded to challenges of Buddhists in the Medieval China. By discussing the transformation, development and reproduction of these subjects of Taoist thought through Hong Ming Ji and Guang Hong Ming Ji, we will have a much clearer picture of intellectual transfers and interactions among Taoists and Buddhists during the Medieval China.
