英文摘要

The interaction between indegenous peoples in Taiwan and the entire Taiwan’s society in modern times has been very close. Through a simple flash-back of Taiwan’s history, we can understand that the effect of Colonialism was omnipresent from the era of Holland’s military sanctions, The Kominka Movement in the Japanese Colonial Period, and to the policy of national assimilation in the year of ROC (Republic of China), Especially of the implantation of the foreign way of living and culture, which had caused serious the loss of the consciousness of indigenous peoples’ ethinic identity and their culture. Anthropologists pioneered the tribe’s academic research and investigation of the artifacts of the Puyuma Tribe in Chih-Pen, Taitung, Taiwan (ROC) . With their help, the indigenous peoples’ culture was revealed again and given new annotations ever since. After the WW II, Taiwan faced the impact of Westernization, which caused that Taiwan’s traditional culture could be rightfully neither respected nor understood. Indegenous tribal art performances were marginalized and even been cast out from main discussion stream. My study will discuss the tribal loss of traditional culture in Chih- Pen’s through viewpoints of Post-colonialism., This study uses the western art form and/or the concepts of western cultural development to elaborate the connotation of tribes’ traditional culture in Taiwan by the renaissance of its culture and the exploration of indegenous artists and to seek the identification of the tribes and the society. Additionally, the study wishes to re-examine the ethic order and the extent of art, with tribes as priority, through the objects (artifacts) and the tribes’ aspect of life.
