資訊圖像（Infographics )，泛指各種統計圖、表格、地圖或示 意圖。正如新聞寫作的準則是追求精確的報導；資訊圖像的產製也要 求正確和清晰。在完成一幅新聞圖像的過程中從事件發生到設計完稿 ，資訊必須轉幾次手才到美编桌上。消息來源和圖像設計者之間有一 連串轉折。因此，可能影響到圖像呈現的正確程度。爲了一探資訊圖 像產製過程的困難，研究者對臺北都會區五家報紙的美術編輯作了進 行深度訪談。 訪談結果發現：報紙圖像主要由美術编輯完成。美術編輯作圖的 材料有一部份來自於消息来源提供的草圖，另一部份則出自文字記者 自行描繪。除此，地圖、照片、或友報刊登的圖像也成爲參考資料。 訪談結果同時發現：整個圖表產製過程中有若干問題產生，這些問題 包括：記者與美術編輯之間的互動不良、美術编輯製圖所需的時間嚴 重不足、以及圖表製成後，查核未盡確實。 爲提高報紙上資訊圖像的正確程度，作者建議：設置專門的機制 以查核圓像正確性，是當務之急。.在新聞敎育和在職人員進修方面， 應當加強文字工作者的圖像思考能力。同時也應改善報社美編人員的 地位，以強化其工作動機。最後，我們應致力於促進不同專業者的相 互尊重，透過職位交流使這些人員得以整合文孛和圖像工作能力或許 是一個値得努力的目標。

To understand how information graphics are made in newsroom, the researchers interviewed artistis and journalists from five newspapers in Taipei metropolitan. The results indicate that the designers in newspapers usually acquire input from many sources when making information graphics. These sources are local officials, writers, and photojournalists. Other references include: city maps and graphics from other newspapers. The results also indicates that difficulties in making graphics may come from insufficient interaction between writers and artists, shortage of time budget for creative work, and poor proofreading procedure. It is suggested that proofreading of design desk should be set up to ensure accuracy of graphical representation in newspaper. Designers should be paid more respect in their professional area. Finally, integration of personnels between editing and designdepart-ments is necessary to increase consensus of the two talents.
