本研究探究何謂風格，以及何謂新聞風格。藉由分析坊間各新聞 媒體所出版之編採手册，本文試圖瞭解新聞風格如何展現。主要研究 問題在於瞭解何謂風格？構成風格的要素有哪些？風格内涵包括哪些 ?爲何要有風格？影響風格的要素爲何？本研究隨後探析何謂新聞風 格？構成新聞風格的要素爲何？新聞風格包括哪些内涵？新聞的風格 與一般的風格之間是否有何關連或有何差異？ 根據上述討論，本研究並分析新聞编採手册具有哪些特質？不同 手册之特點爲何？由此劃分出新聞風格的兩個面向，並據此做爲分析 坊間十五本編採手册的基礎，試囷了解新聞編採手册是否呈現新聞風 格以及呈現何種新聞風格。 本研究發現，十五本編採手册所反映之新聞風格較偏向新聞工作 行規，忽略不同新聞組織間的差異，使得新聞編採手册僅能建構新聞行業的群體性，無法形塑出個別新聞組織的獨特特徵，因而有別於風 格概念之原始定義。 第二，本研究所調查之十五本編採手册的確呈現了新聞媒體内部 組織與語言常規的層次關係，但忽略組織文化對這些常規的影響。本 研究因此建議新聞媒體組織日後製訂编採手册時，除應羅列組織與語 言的規範，亦應陳述該組織之文化特徵，方能建立新聞媒體之組織特色

This research explores what style and news style are and attempts to grasp how news style is manifested by examining news stylebooks that various media organizations publish. Issues of concern here include what style and news style are, what they are composed of, what is contained in their essence, the relations and differences among them, why style is needed, and what affects style. Further, we inquire into the features of news stylebooks. Two facets of news style are delineated as the ground for analyzing 15 news stylebooks in order to understand whether stylebooks present news style and in what way. Our study indicates that these stylebooks present more news routines than differences among news organizations, which only constructs the shared characteristics of the media industry yet fails to create individual news organization’s features. The concept of style manifested here, therefore, is deviant from its original definition. Moreover, the 15 stylebooks examined show an orderly relations between media’s organizational and linguistic routines with a neglect to the influence of organizational culture to these routines. Stylebook editors are thus suggested to combine the organizational culture with media’s organizational and linguistic regulations in order to set up individual news style.
