網際網路的發展，帶動了新聞與編輯室的數位革命。西方自1990 年代陸續提出「電腦輔助新聞報導」、「資料庫新聞學」等概念，均說 明了記者運用網際網路作為消息來源的趨勢。 本研究於88年8月至10月以中時報系的中國時報與工商時報台北 採訪中心為母艎，針對採訪組記者作問卷普查，共計完成159份有效樣 本。 研究調查顯示，超過八成的記者曾經透過網際網路檢索，尋找新聞 線索，他們最常使用的搜尋引擎，包括蕃薯藤、奇摩站及中文Yahoo ; 最常使用的網站類型，包括新聞媒體網站、搜尋引擎及政府公共資訊 網；最常運用全球資訊網、報社電子資料庫及線上資料庫，尋找一般消 息、原始資料及資訊文脈。受訪者並且預測，未來「電腦輔助新聞報 導」中，由線上檢索消息來源，將成為記者除了傳統消息來源外，另外 一個重要管道。

The development of Internet has brought the digital revolution to the newsroom. Terms such as Computer-Assisted Reporting (CAR)and Database Journalism depict the trend that journalists are using Internet as their news sources. This study examines how the newspaper journalists use Internet as news sources. This research sampled 169 journalists from the China Times and the Commercial Times through questionnaire survey with response rate 94.08%. The survey showed that over 80% of journalists have used Internet to search for news sources. They often use search engines such as Yam, Kimo，and Chinese Yahoo. The following web sites are journalists’ favorable types: (l)web sites which are set up by news media, (2)the search engines, and (3)the governmental public information sites. They often use WWW, newspaper developed databases, and online databases to search for the general information, raw data, and context information.They also predict that the utilization of computer-assisted reporting will become another important news gathering channel to the journalists in the near future.
