本文嘗試從空間與時間文化的理論，探索MUD文化，釐清其興趣 結構、符號特質與社群本質。空間文化的分析指標爲通道、向度、位 址、距離、方向與形式，時間文化的指標則爲歷時性、共時性與速 度，最後歸納出創造、流動、解構、解放、並置等主要虚擬世界的文 化特徵，這些特質正與後現代文化的精神不謀而合。

This article attempts to explore the MUD culture with theoris of space and time,clarifying its interest structure, symbolic characteristics, as well as nature of community. The culture of virtual space is examined by the following concepts: channel, dimeasion,address,distance ,direcdop and form,while the culture of virtual time is examined by diachronicity, synchronicity, and speed. The study concludes that creadvity, mobility, deconstruction,liberation,and juxtaposition are the key featuresinthe virtual culture, which are consistent with those of postmodern thems.
