《華嚴經》所鋪陳的境界美學令人驚嘆，其中世尊的「十次放光」尤有深意；它不僅是目眩神迷的神變而已，還涵蓋了宗教的神聖意義、聖者的修證歷程，以及大乘的救度精神。歷來闡發「放光」者不多，本文以八十卷本為底，進行以下分析：「光」在宗教上的意義；《華嚴經》中的放光為何是「十次」？何謂「以光說法」？世尊之放光與菩薩之五十二行位有何關聯？古之李通玄、今之方東美對「十次放光」有何詮釋？從梵文「毘盧遮那佛」與「阿彌陀佛」，解析二佛「光」之特性；經典中的「光明定」之修持方法等。期待藉著本文，讀者不再認為「光」是神秘、華麗、不可解；而是把它視為內心修證的、具體可行的目標。

The aesthetic realm depicts in the Avatamsaka Sutra is stunning, and in which the Ten Emitted Light of World Honored One is especially shown with a profound meaning. The showing of the Ten Emitted Light is not just a dazzling spiritual change, but rather it displays the religious meaning, the practice process of the Honored One, as well as the Mahayana spirit of saving living beings. The “Emitted Light” hasn’t been paid a lot of attention in the previous studies. This article is based on the version of 80 fascicles to carry out the following analyses: The religious meaning of “light”; why the Emitted Light occurs in Avatamsaka Sutra is “ten” times? What does it mean to “speak the dharma by light”? What is the relationship between World Honored One’s Emitted Light and Bodhisattva’s fifty-two stages? How do Tung-Hsuan Lee and Thomé H. Fang interpret the “Ten Emitted Light”? Base on the Sanskrit of Vairocana-buddha and Amitabha-buddha to analyze the light characteristic of the two Buddhas, as well as the practice method of the stablization of brightness in the sutra.Hope the article can provide readers a whole new point; no longer think the “light” is mysterious, gorgeous or impossible to solve, but rather treat it as the insight practice that is specific and achievable.
