使用性研究乃是運用特定手法，來評估與驗證具有複雜的操作介面適切與 否的利器，同樣的手法也可運用及推展到其他類產品的操作分析上。本研究選 定曾獲日本通商產業省GOOD DESIGN 大賞的理光313R 型投影機，以口語敘述法探討產品使用性研究之應用。本次使用性研究方法採同時口述觀察法 及事後填記問卷調查法兩種方式進行，其實驗條件分為操作組及比較組兩大 類，各組又區隔為具投影機操作經驗者及不具投影機操作經驗者兩群， 每群受測者預計5 位，6 群合計30 位受測者。此外，並以隨機取樣方式 選取72 位受測者，以操作組的實驗條件進行操作，僅擷取事後詢答調查 資料。實驗結果顯示設計師生活背景下所既存的心智模型，和使用者間存 在著顯著的差異性。設計師竭盡心力將投影機設計成可以攜帶的尺寸大 小，但是操作過程及標示說明，在設計上竟然發生這麼多與使用者操作 使用認知上的不同點。透過使用性的實驗與探討，並據此修正與改良以 獲致適當的介面操作設計，當可有效的減少設計師與使用者間的認知差 異。

The purpose of this paper is to study the usability of Ricoh 313R overhead projector, which received the Good Design Award in Japan, with the method of applied protocol analysis. Ricoh 313R overhead projector has a very complicated operating interface, and the study of usability is a very suitable method to evaluate a complicated operating interface. The method in this paper is to use protocol analysis and make questionnaire afterwards. In this experiment, there are two groups – operational group and comparative group, and each group is separated to be operation-experienced and operation-inexperienced. The result shows that the cognitive model of designer is very different from the users’. According to this study, the interface operational design can be modified and improved properly and the cognitive difference between designer and user may be reduced effectively.
