The aim of this paper is to investigate concepts of relational aesthetics and socially engaged art, and tactics and strategies that are commonly used in contemporary art practices. This paper also includes practical examples of socially engaged art projects, such as the works of RirkritTiravanija and Conflict Kitchen, whose practices could be applied in art curricula and teaching and learning in art. Finally, this paper reveals several pedagogical implications for teaching and learning in art from concepts of relational aesthetics, socially engaged art, and examples of contemporary art practices.
