二十一世紀以降，人類社會開始進入一個數位連接與數位沉浸的世代， 物質實體世界與數位虛擬世界可以相互介接併聯，資料不僅是重要的無形 資產，更是競爭力的來源，人腦與機器也更深入的互動共創。本文介紹大 數據基本概念與主要分析技術，回溯資料計算與人文社會科學跨領域發展 的趨勢脈絡，並以中華民國官職資料庫與政治研究、二二八事件台灣本地 新聞史料彙編與歷史文本修辭語境研究、經濟部商業司商工登記資料與企 業交叉持股行為研究等三個研究應用，呈現跨領域研究在資料內容性質、 分析方法、探索發現等層面的多元樣貌。基於這些基礎，本文論述大數據 與資料計算為人文社會研究所帶來的重要意涵，包括資料的原生性、資料 的可操作性、資料的可連結性、資料的可呈現性、資料的可檢驗性及資料 的高價值性，最後，本文總結呼籲，大數據時代需要人文社會學者與資料 計算學者共同攜手，探討新研究範式中資料、議題、實驗設計驗證、理論 模型建構的合理組成與循環修正，才能迎接豐碩的研究成果，進而開創新 的知識體系。

In the twenty-first century, human society enters an era of digital connection and digital immersion. Physical world are interfaced and linked with virtual world. Data become competitive resources. Human and machines collaborate in creation. This paper introduces fundamental concepts of big data, data analytic techniques, and the retrospective context of interdisciplinary development between data computing and humanities/social sciences. Three research applications of data oriented interdisciplinary study are presented to showcase the aspects of data content, analytic method, and exploratory discovery. The interdisciplinary research examples include: the R.O.C. government post database and political power, Taiwanese local news archive for the 228 event and rhetoric context of historical event, business registration data from the ministry of economics and corporate interlocking. This paper further suggests essential implications of big data and data computing for humanities and social sciences research, such as data nativeness, data operability, data linkability, data representability, data inspectability, and data value. Finally, this paper calls for a joint research venture by data scientists, humanists, and social scientists to explore and refine appropriate construction of data, issue, experimental design, validation, and theoretic model in the new research paradigm. This exciting endeavor will lead to promising and fruitful research results, and eventually prosperity of new knowledge discovery.
