台灣地區早期推廣百喜草作為果園主要覆蓋植物,然由苗栗縣大 湖鄉四份成木果園地被植物與光度分布得知,百喜草因耐蔭性低,並不適 用於成木果園林下植被覆蓋。而以天然入侵之適生雜草為覆蓋植物,配合 雜草管理,可達到果園草生栽培效果。另於台中市石岡區果園研究顯示, 行純割刈處理的雜草種類較施用除草劑者為少,且可避免施用除草劑後產 生的地表裸露,應為較適宜的管理方式。由果樹林下之植被調查得知,植 株低矮的火炭母草、竹仔菜、兩耳草等可於果樹林下緻密覆蓋,而兩耳草 行割刈後有純化現象,皆可抑制過多雜草入侵及達到農地水土保持之功 效。

英文摘要

Bahiasgrass (Paspalum notatum Flugge) used to be promoted as the major cover plant for orchard area in Taiwan. However, from the ground cover and photometric distribution under orchard adult trees in Dahuszufen survey area, Bahiasgrass is not suitable for the vegetation cover of orchard trees because of the low shade tolerance. Selecting naturally invasive adaptive weeds for the cover plant with weed management could achieve the grass cover of orchard areas. Moreover, research on orchards in Shihkang survey area presents that weed species is seldom in pure cutting sampling areas than in the herbicide treatment plots, and the bare surface resulted from the use of herbicide could be avoided. It is considered as the appropriate management. From the ground cover vegetation survey, Chinese Knotweed (Polygonum chinense L. ), Spreading Dayflower (Commelina diffusa Burm f. ), and Sour Grass (Paspalum conjugatum Berg. ) are suitable for dense cover, and Sour Grass purification appears after weed cut only but not used herbicide that it could restrain the invasion of excessive weeds and achieve the soil and water conservation of slope farmland.
