This paper studies readings and interpretations of The Analects” since the Republic era in the following perspectives: the continuous development of traditional commentaries; new researches based on newly discovered materials; new approaches and achievements; and new concerns and territories related to new researches. It demonstrates the rich and idiosyncratic receptions of this classic in modern times.
