“Foot-stomping song” (t’a ko 踏歌) combines singing and dancing together, with hand in hand and stomping as a rhythm marker. This is a kind of communal activity, entertaining the dancers and the audience at the same time. The audience can join in the dance whenever they feel like to. This mode of dancing was welcomed and popular in Tang Dynasty because it is easy to learn and fun to perform.
