A source-like model for two-dimensional airflow over mountain ranges is used to generate a steady-state solution from prescribed mean atmospheric values as initial conditions. A pronounced mid-tropospheric jet with upstream blocking and two lee-wave modes are found. Downward momentum flux as well as phase differences between the (ur, v’) velocity components in the lee-wave system are given.
