From the artifacts handed down or unearthed, it can be observed that artifacts in Wang Mang’s period were very delicate. Dai Xi ( 戴熙) titled Wang Mang ( 王 莽) the first currency designer of all time. Wang Guo-Wei ( 王國維) praised the Measure of the Xin Dynasty (《新莽嘉量》) as an immortal treasure. Bronze-stone scholars in the Qing Dynasty also studied the bronze mirrors in the Xin dynasty. In the past 60 years of archaeological excavation, lots of Xin objects were unearthed from ancient Han dynasty tombs. These objects show the hard work in their design and manufacture. This paper attempts to explore the shapes, graphic designs, materials, and textures of the measures, bronze mirrors, and coins. It also explains the reason why Wang put efforts into casts and illustrates that the ideas and measures of casting in the Wang period exhibited the new style of “Dao in objects,” which differs from the “rituals in objects” culture in the Zhou Dynasty.
