Dai-chien Chang and Pablo Picasso are famous artists in the world. Their exquisite paintings and strong patriotism are deeply respected by the common people. Art history scholars call them the pioneers of modern painting. Their painting style was ever-changing, creative, and remarkable in their era. The development of the 20th century art of the East and West were strongly influenced by both of them. Dai-chien Chang specialized in poetry, calligraphy, painting andChinese seal. His ink painting and splash of color landscape innovated modern Chinese painting. He had emigrated to Europe and America, and studied the customs of Europe and America. He worked hard on carrying forward the Chinese culture and developing Chinese diplomacy. Picasso was a versatile artist. He was adept in oil painting, lithograph, sculpture and pottery. His war paints such as “Guernica” and “Peace Dove” are well-known. He worked diligently on world peace and art with his whole life. Both Dai-chien Chang and Picasso were patriotic artists. Their meeting in Cannes, France in 1956 had been honored as “art sector summit East and West.” By the masterpieces of these twoartists, we realize that the power of art influences the people all over the world.
