本文梳理社會建構取向對於健康、疾病與風險的研究成果，並將其區 分為三種分析路徑來進行評述：首先是醫療化（medicalization)做為最主 要的典範，討論人們健常的身心狀態或是道德偏差行為如何被建構為一個 醫療問題，並說明這個典範內部的轉變；其次是從權力一知識的概念切入， 檢視正常性如何建構，以及健康與疾病的風險如何做為醫學監管與治理的 對象；第三部分則聚焦討論媒體在醫療化與健康風險的社會建構過程中所 扮演的角色，可概分為媒體作為醫療資訊不完美的流通者，或是媒體報導 本身就是知識生產的實踐；最後本文也將針對健康、風險與媒體這個研究 領域的未來方向提出具體建議。

This paper reviews the studies assuming a social constructionist approach to health, illness and risk issues. This approach takes these categories —health, illness, or risk—as socially constituted and explores the mechanisms through which power relations are reproduced. This review specifies three analytic axes: the first is the medicalization thesis elucidating the ways morally deviant behaviors or normal biological processes have been re-categorized as medical conditions; the second is the perspective of power-knowledge examining how the “normality” is constructed, and thus health and its risks become the objects governed by medical supervision and management; the third is the roles media play in the society which engages in medicalization and risk governance, as a “imperfect” disseminator of scientific-medical knowledge or an agent of knowledge production in itself. This paper also suggests directions for future research for the media, health and risk.
