本研究利用Corneometer CM825 (皮膚保濕測定儀) -Germany,CK、Assessing the Skin Macro Relief by Replica & Light Transmission（皮膚表面粗糙度）-Skin-Visiosacn® VC98 和Video Digitizer VD300 -Germany,CK；評估西洋蔘、東洋蔘、吉林蔘、高麗蔘之美容功效。這四種蔘 雖然都屬五加科植物，但因生長環境不同、產地不同，是否因此在美容功效上有所差異。 試測東洋蔘(主要生長在日本)、西洋蔘(主要產地美國、加拿大)、高麗蔘(主要產地韓國)、 吉林蔘(主要產地中國東北)萃取液，並將四種人蔘萃取液配製成玻尿酸製品，來探討比較這八 種待測品的保濕、抗皺、撫平粗糙、使皮膚光滑亮麗…等美容作用的顯著性。 我們將四種蔘配製成10mg/ml 分別用水加熱萃取。另外再用四種萃取蔘液配製成1%濃 度的玻尿酸製品。經由皮膚角質層含水量測定、表皮穿皮失水率(TEWL)測定、待測品對皮膚 粗糙度改善及光滑度的測定，用科學實驗證實人蔘不僅能對皮膚有保溼功效，還可預防肌膚 老化，防止皮膚粗糙，使皮膚潔白光滑等功能，實驗也證實用人蔘萃取液加上玻尿酸配製的 產品有加強美容護膚的功效。
