在原有的硬實力與軟實力的對比之外，本文嘗試加入第三個實力類型– 銳實力。銳實力 是一項獨特的類型，它兼具軟實力的非強制性質，以及硬實力的主動積極性，可提供檢視現 實環境中更完整的理解。本文嘗試觀察在以硬實力手段作為訴求的戰爭中，可否觀察到軟實 力與銳實力的運作，藉此闡述三者的關係其實是密不可分、相互生成。檢視歐洲十五與十六 世紀的主要戰爭之後，本文發現許多軟實力與銳實力在戰爭中生成並產生程度不一的影響結 果。在結論中，本文提出「鑲嵌」的概念用以描述三種實力之間的關係：軟實力與銳實力鑲 嵌在硬實力當中，當硬實力運作時，會穿插與滲透著強弱、主動被動、積極消極程度不一的 銳實力與軟實力，對結果產生影響。如果鑲嵌的性質確實存在，未來的研究將嘗試說明在硬 實力中產生銳實力與軟實力的機制為何，並且以現代的戰爭作為觀察的對象。

Based on the already well-known contrast between hard power and soft power, this article proposes to add the third type of power into the model – sharp power. Sharp power is conceptually unique since it comes both with soft power’s non-cohesive and hard power’s initiative-pushful nature, which helps us to reach a more comprehensive understanding of how three types of power work in the real world. This article tries to examine if sharp and soft power can be found in a typical hard power operation – wars, and it can demonstrate the interconnected and inseparable relationships among the three if so. After examining the major wars in the 15th and 16thcentury Europe, many sharp and soft power actions are found and have great impacts on the consequences of these wars. In the conclusion, the concept of “embeddedness” is used to describe the relationships among the three: sharp and soft power are imbedded in hard power. As a hard power is in action, such as war, sharp and soft power might emerge and operate with various degrees of strength and influences. If the embeddedness can properly describe the relationships among three, the future research needs to explain the mechanism of why and how sharp and soft power occur and how they develop from hard power. Modern wars are also proposed to be analyzed in the future research.
