Purposes We reported the treatment outcomes for patients with peripheral diabetic retinopathy (PDR) complicated by neovascular glaucoma (NVG) who underwent pars plana endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation of the ciliary processes (ECP-plus) and endoscopyassisted panretinal photocoagulation (Endoscopic PRP). Methods This is a retrospective study. Clinical data of patients with PDR complicated by NVG who visited Taichung Veterans General Hospital between November 1, 2014 to November 1, 2016 were collected. All included subjects underwent ECP-plus and endoscopic PRP. Post-procedural data were collected at Day 1, Week 1, Week 2, Month 1, Month 3, and Month 6 after surgery, and successful treatment rates were recorded. Results During the 24-month study period, a total of 13 patients (14 eyes) were included. After the procedures, all patients had lower intraocular pressure (IOP) values compared with the preoperative value. The mean pre-procedural IOP was 33.9±6.0 mmHg and the post-procedural IOPs were 11.7±3.2 mmHg (Day 1), 19.7±3.8 mmHg (Month 1), and 19.8±3.0 mmHg (Month 6). None of the patients suffered from severe complications during and after the treatment. Conclusions The post-treatment reduction in IOP ranged from 43% (Month 6) to 66% (Day 1). The results showed that ECP-plus and endoscopic PRP is an effective and safe treatment for patients with PDR complicated by NVG.
