英文摘要

In this study, we investigated whether an online 3-step classroom-home-web social persuasion platform could help building exercise habit. We conducted a 2-hour classroom-based fitness training course once a week for 13 consecutive weeks. A total of 108 middle-aged healthy volunteers were divided into two groups: social persuasion platform group (n=56) and paper diary group (n=52). Platform group shared their exercise online records with each participant at all time while diary group reported their records only to the trainer once a week. Both groups filled out wellness-related questionnaires after 13 weeks of training. Our results showed that platform group exhibited more average exercise time (64.6%), higher average exercise frequency (121.4%), better exercise behavior score (11.1%) and less PQSI score (-31.1%) than the diary group. Our data demonstrated that online social persuasion platform help achieving the health promotion goal by sharing real-time information with peer participants, reinforcing their motivation and thereby consolidating a constant exercise habit.
