面對西方現代性的主體困境,臺灣新士林哲學繼承了歐 洲士林哲學傳統,提倡開放人文主義。會通中西哲學的優良傳統, 強調内在與超越、内省與外推的統一,整合傳統與現代、個人與社 會、物質與精神、宗教與政治、道德與法律。不僅體現了基督宗教 的中國化、現代化,也成為中國文化的重新定位與現代化的重要進 路。
To overcome the subjective malaise of western modernity Taiwan Neo-Scholasticism inherited the tradition of European Neo-Scholasticism and advocated open humanism. It integrated immanence with transcendence, introspection with strangification and sought balance between tradition and modernization , individuality and society, matter and spirit, religion and politics, moral and law through mutual-communication between Chinese and western philosophy. Open humanism would not only show sinicization of Christianity but also contribute to the modernization of Chinese culture.
