中文摘要

本研究旨於透過著眼於高等教育中之女性教師的科研活動,瞭解女性教師職業形成的特徵及過程。透過對5名女性教師的訪問內容來分析其對於科研的態度,以及其受職場、家庭狀況及社會構造不同的影響下產生變化的現狀。在此基礎上,根據教學活動和科研活動所投入時間不平衡的現狀,以探討女性教師的職業生涯如何形成。結果顯示,女性教師迴避科研之現狀及其原因具有多樣性。究其原因,首先,女性教師被子女應該放在第一位的傳統思想所束縛;再次,經濟上的滿足使得她們迴避科研活動。正是因為有了這樣之現狀,故導致女性教師愈來愈難以平衡照顧子女和科研活動之間的關係,並影響著女性教師的工作積極性。

英文摘要

This study aims to explore female teachers’ careers by focusing on their academic activities in higher educational institutions. To analyze female teachers’ attitudes towards academic research and how their attitudes are changed based on their positions, family conditions, and social construction, this study interviewed 5 Chinese female teachers. Moreover, this study tries to discuss how female teachers construct their careers by examining the status that they spend more time instructing rather than researching. This paper asserts that there are two reasons to explain why these Chinese female teachers avoid academic research: Firstly, they are affected by traditional thoughts that their children are their first priority. Secondly, their satisfaction with financial conditions makes them avoid academic research. Furthermore, this study deems that the more these female teachers avoid academic research, the more difficult for them to balance the relation between tacking care of their children and engaging academic activities. The status influence female teachers’ work motivations as well.
