本文探析荀子「人臣之道」之意涵及對孔孟所論君臣關係的轉化。戰國時代,政治場域出現了大量的新興士人,遊走於各諸侯國以求拔擢重用,於是,君臣關係有了重新定位的需要︰對照孔、孟所主君臣關係為「以道事君」、「大有為之君∕不召之臣」等相互對應的態度,荀子則由其政治創構視角將君臣權力關係的軸線挪移;在禮義基礎上揭示人臣之道︰「忠順而不懈」,意即「忠順」於社稷、「不懈」於進諫以穩定君臣關係,實已由孔孟所言的德性價值信念,轉化為忠於國家的政治行動,並指出臣子具體的行動綱領及歷史典範,重新定位了君臣關係。
This paper attempts to explore the meaning of “courtier’s way” by Xunzi and the transformation of monarch relationship between Confucius and Mencius. The Period of Warring States, the political field of the activities of a large number of emerging scholars, wandering in the vassal state in order to promoted reuse, so, monarch relationship has a need to reposition: against Confucius、Mencius “with the Tao matter June,” “Great for the King / not to call the courtier” and so lay the monarch relationship must be reciprocal, while Xunzi’s political creation perspective makes the axis of Monarch power relations move, on the basis of propriety and righteousness, monarch relations tend to dominate the relationship of obedience. Xun Zi reveals the way of: “yi li shi jun, zhong shun er bu xie,” mainly is “Loyal to the country,” “unremitting” in the voice to stabilize the monarch relationship, at the same time, and pointed out the specific action of the courtiers and historical model, the way of the courtiers is different from Confucius and Mencius, has transformed and repositioned the relationship between the monarch and the courtier.
