在多元文化教育的關懷族群中,性少數學生始終座落在被遺忘的角落,這樣的冷漠實況,也造成長久以來性少數學子的校園處境與教育問題缺乏關照與回應,甚至仍有教職人員無法積極面對性少數學生主體的教育需求及困境。本研究旨在探究長期以來遭到忽略之性少數學生的校園處境,在多元文化教育與性別平等教育倡議多年之下,性少數學生實際所面對的學校生活究竟是什麼樣子的景況?2000年於屏東高樹國中所發生在葉永鋕身上的不幸事件,今日在校園內的性少數學生是否仍有類似的遭遇或新挑戰?學校的教師又是如何處理他們在學校所遭逢的困難和挑戰?本研究採質性研究法,以永恆(化名)同志社福機構之性少數高中生為研究參與者,結果發現:一、性少數學生飽受霸凌而自我傷害;二、教師未能適時應對恐同霸凌;三、教育人員不公平差別對待;四、性別友善學校改善學生處境。希冀透過本研究的探問檢視,敦促更多教育工作者發起對性少數學子的生命關懷,以真正回應多元文化教育的重要精神和使命,在對各種弱勢族群的教育照護下,不再獨漏性少數族群的身影。
Sexual minority students have long been ignored in multicultural education. As a result, the circumstances and educational needs of sexual minority students are left uncared for. Some school staff cannot even tackle the problems faced by these students proactively and effectively. This study aimed to investigate the circumstances of sexual minority students in high school. After years of promoting multicultural education and gender equality education, what was the reality of sexual minority students’ school life? Did they still encounter difficulties similar to Yong-Zhi Ye’s misery at Gao-Shu Junior High in Pingtung in 2000 or new challenges? How did the school teachers deal with the problems and challenges faced by them? Employing qualitative research method, this study invited sexual minority senior high students from Eternity (anonymous) Gay Association to be research participants and concluded: 1. Sexual minority students were prevalently bullied and self-harming; 2. Teachers failed to tackle homophobic bullying effectively; 3. Educators discriminated against sexual minority students; 4. Gender-friendly schools improved students’ circumstances. Through the inquiry and investigation, this study hopes to remind educators to care for sexual minority students and truly respond to the spirit and mission of multicultural education which cares for all minority groups including sexual minority.
