本研究目的利用溶膠-凝膠技術製備含有抗菌物質limonene的二氧化矽材料,探討製備過程中乾燥條件、PVA/TEOS配合比例、pH值、攪拌時間及反應溫度等條件對limonene包覆率之影響,以找出最佳製備條件,並利用測試其抗菌效果。結果顯示利用冷凍乾燥方式、1/4的PVA/TEOS配合比例、pH值=2、在50℃的反應溫度下攪拌1小時,可以製備出具有最好的limonene包覆率(29.05%)的Sol gel-limonene抗菌薄膜。使用進行抑菌實驗,結果顯示含有8.53% limonene之Sol gel-limonene抗菌薄膜的抑菌結果,空白組為1.81*102 CFU/mL,實驗組為9.27*101 CFU/mL,經由統計分析得知兩組間具有顯著差異,表示Sol gel-limonene抗菌薄膜能釋放出limonene來抑制包裝袋內食品表面微生物的生長,達到保鮮及延長食品儲存壽命的目的。
The objective of this study is to prepare and characterize the antimicrobial films incorporated with limonene-silica particles by sol-gel technique. Results showed that the thin films synthesized by mixing polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) (at a ratio of 1 : 4) with embedded limonenesilica particles at pH 2, 50°C for one hour and then freeze-dried obtained the highest encapsulation rate of limonene at 29.05%. In addition, the antimicrobial activity of the thin films against E. coli has been studied. Results showed that the thin films containing 8.53% limonene have effectively reduced the microbial counts of half log CFU/mL when compared to the control. The antimicrobial films made with limonene using the solgel technique demonstrated the effectiveness on the inhibitory activity of E. coli growth.
