Charles Taylor 的〈承認的政治〉（“The Politics ofRecognition”）自1992 年出版至今，政治哲學界針對這篇文章所闡述的思想內涵所引發的辯論，至今仍歷久不衰。本文嘗試透過Taylor 晚近發表的〈Bouchard-Taylor 報告〉來對Taylor 的〈承認的政治〉理論中所提示的思想理路提出補充。作者論證在當代民主國家中，在政治生活中如何維繫基本的共同性又能承認少數文化群體之差異主張逐漸成為非常關鍵之議題，Taylor 從黑格爾式自由主義所闡述的政治承認觀點，不僅在政治哲學中提供一套有別於契約論自由主義的權利觀點，也是一套在政治實踐上十分具有參考價值之政策思維。

Since its publication in 1992, Charles Taylor’s article “The Politic of Recognition” has both been a source of inspirations and contentions in theorizing multiculturalism. This article utilizes Taylor’s relatively recent work, the “Bouchard-Taylor Report,” originally commissioned by the Quebec Government under the Consultation Committee on Accommodation Practices Related to Cultural Differences in 2008, to provide a new interpretation to “The Politics of Recognition.” The author argues that both in “The Politics of Recognition” and the “Bouchard-Taylor Report”, we can detect a common theme of Hegelian multiculturalism. On this view, the justifications of what makes a right or rights are distinctly different from liberal-contractual-multiculturalism both in theory and in practice.
