The purpose of the paper is investigating tourist motivations for and satisfaction with the Bunun ritualized performance of the Ear-shooting Festival held in Mayuan Village, Hualien. Questionnaire survey is conducted on tourists attending the festival, of whom 300 provided valid questionnaire responses for data analysis. Reliability analysis via statistical software 1s conducted right after cross analysis. Next, the GM(0,N) is employed for data analysis. Result of data analysis revealed that tourist motivations included understanding Bunun ancestors’ wisdom, conserving ecological resources, staying away from the boisterous city, and relaxing tired body and mind in search of spiritual peacefulness. Tourists were most satisfied with the guided directory, translation service and tour information service. The analysis is in conformation to what really happened. The research can be referred to by the Mayuan community and other communities as a guide for their future developmental design.
