Many people today leave their hometowns for schools or for work. These people are away from their homes so they often choose to eat in the restaurants or take-out food because it is inconvenient for them to cook in their rentals. At the same time, many elders become empty nesters because their children left home. These silver-haired people often have kitchens, cookware and other cooking related tools and they are also good cook since they have a lot of experience in cooking. However, because they become empty nesters, the family size shrinks. When they cook, they often have leftovers. Reheating leftovers is not only making the food less tasteful but also destroying the nutrients in the food. Based on these facts, the researchers have designed the “Share” App. This App is to address the need of traveling students and/or workers for tasty home-cook food and to solve the excess home-cook food issues for silver-haired population. In addition, the solution provided by this study may improve the silver haired elders’ well-being and lead to their positive aging.
