中文摘要

在5G與頻寬需求的驅使之下,通訊設備正往更高傳輸速度、更低耗能、更小體積的方向發展。矽光子(Silicon Photonics)技術正可以提供諸多設備更佳性能的解決方案。所謂“矽光子"技術即是利用半導體CMOS製程技術,在矽材料上製造出積體光路,並能進一步與III-V族材料做整合,製作出電光積體晶片(Electro-Photonic Integrated Circuits, EPIC)。

英文摘要

Driven by the demand for 5G and bandwidth, communication equipment is developing in the direction of higher transmission speed, lower energy consumption, and smaller size. Silicon Photonics technology is providing solutions for better performance in many devices. The so-called "silicon photonics" technology is to use semiconductor CMOS process technology to fabricate integrated light paths on silicon materials and further integrate with III-V materials to produce electro-optic integrated circuits (EPIC).
