臺灣草苺主要產區位於苗栗縣。隨著夏季高溫驟雨頻仍,育苗難度漸增。為育成兼顧果實品質與易育苗的草苺新品種,本場於2014年以‘桃園1號’為母本,種原‘MLSBL’為父本,開始進行雜交,歷經六年育種程序之各級試驗,育成新品種‘苗栗1號’,並於2019年5月14日取得植物品種權(品種權字第A02454號)。該品種植株株形呈半直立,繁殖倍率為對照品種‘桃園1號’之1.4倍。種苗定植後約55日達始花期,約92日達果實成熟期。每花序花朵數平均1.3-1.4朵。果實大呈卵形,平均果重20.5-22.8 g,果肉顏色為紅色,果心為淡紅色。果實可溶性固形物含量高(盛產期可達16.5 °Brix)。單株產量平均為346.8 g。綜合上述,新品種具有果大、繁殖倍率高、可溶性固形物高的特性,具有產業應用潛力。

英文摘要

Strawberry (Fragaria ×ananassa Duch.) is mainly cultivated in Miaoli county in Taiwan. Due to high temperature and humidity in summer, the plantlet production becomes more and more difficult. In order to breed a new cultivar with high fruit quality and easy plantlet propagation, ‘Taoyuan No. 1’ and ‘MLSBL’ were used as parents. Evaluation trials were conducted from 2014 to 2019. The new cultivar ‘Miaoli No. 1’ (Certificate number: A02454) showed a semi-upright growth habit. The plantlet propagation rate of ‘Miaoli No. 1’ was 1.4 times of ‘Taoyuan No. 1’. It took about 55 days from planting to flowering, and 92 days to fruit ripening for ‘Miaoli No. 1’. Each inflorescence was consisted of 1.3-1.4 flowers. The fruit was ovoid in shape with medium red in flesh color and light red in core. The average fruit weight was 20.5-22.8 g. The total soluble solid of fruit reached to 16.5 °Brix, and the yield per plant was about 346.8 g. In conclusion, strawberry ‘Miaoli No. 1’ with large fruit size, high plantlet propagation rate, and high total soluble solid content can meet the market demands.
