木材為一具有環保節能特性之綠色材料,現廣泛應用於結構及工程之用途。然而木材亦為由木質纖維所組成之有機生物性材料, 其吸水吸濕特性容易導致木材於適宜蟲蟻、菌類生存的環境溫度、濕度下遭受各種生物的危害,因此為提升木材之耐久性與延長其使用壽命, 常施以水溶性之保存藥劑進行化學處理, 以抵抗蟲蟻或腐朽菌等生物性劣化, 但此法同時有造成人體健康及環境危害之疑慮。因此本研究探討臺灣櫸(Zelkova serrata)疏伐木枝條甲醇抽出物處理材之抗白蟻性與抗腐朽性,並評估臺灣櫸疏伐木枝條甲醇抽出物作為環境友善型保存藥劑之可行性。研究顯示經不同濃度之臺灣櫸疏伐木枝條甲醇抽出物塗布後,放射松試材於抗白蟻性試驗之質量損失率有略微下降趨勢,白蟻致死率則逐漸提高,但效果不盡顯著。然若以加壓注入法進行臺灣櫸疏伐木枝條甲醇抽出物處理,則放射松試材抗白蟻性試驗之質量損失率具顯著降低之趨勢,同時經高濃度臺灣櫸疏伐木枝條甲醇抽出物注入後,放射松試材抵抗褐腐菌侵害之能力亦有顯著提升之趨勢。

英文摘要

Wood, a kind of green eco-materials, is widely used in structural and engineering applications. Nonetheless, as an organic and hygroscopic material, woodhas lignocellulosic nature and is susceptible to biological degradation under the suitable factors, such as temperature and humidity of environment and moisture content of wood. To improve and extend the durability and service life of wood, chemically treated-wood with water-soluble preservatives is the most common and general way to make it undesirable to fungi and insects. But, there are serious concerns for extra environmental and health hazards associated with the preservative treatments. Therefore, this study investigated the termite and decay resistance of Taiwan zelkova (Zelkova serrata) methanolic extracts treated wood and evaluated the potentials for being an environmentally friendly preservative. The termite testing results showed that the mass loss rate (%) and termite mortality rate of Z. serrata methanolic extracts coating treated-pine were similar to those of untreated group.However, significant differenceswere not found between pressuretreating with different concentrations. In constrast to the termite resistance of treated-wood, the decay resistance of radiata pine treated with Z. serrata methanolic extracts in high concentration showedgreater anti-brown rot fungi ability.
