The paper aims to design an innovative recovery of crashed UAVs. Installed in the aerial vehicle are a parachute and a servomotor, the latter of which is used to drive the flywheel and the launch pad. In case of power failure or out-of-control crash, the remote controller can activate the UAV servomotor, thus enabling the flywheel to pull rope and activating the UAV parachute barrel. The swing angle of the launch pad can be adjusted using the remote controller to control the servomotor. The gliding direction of the parachute can be guided to allow UAVs to land at a safe area. In addition to enabling UAVs to land at a designated area, this innovative device can recover UAVs for further use as well.
