理解九諦九解之辯的核心乃在於周海門所言的「明善」。這一根本問題又具體展開為三大問題：在道德的判斷原則中，良知心體與善惡概念孰為首出的問題；在道德實踐動力的來源中，自力與他力孰更重要的問題；以及對於工夫作用層的無執不滯，二者的體會是否一致的問題。通過這三大問題的檢視，我們可以給予九諦九解一個更為準確的理論定位。

The key term in the debate of “Nine Truth and NineAnswer” was “the clarification of good”. This key term unfolded into three propositions: the Mind-heart or the term of good and evil, which comes first in moral judgement? Oneness or otherness, which is more reliable in moral motivation? Do they two have the same understanding of the moral creativity of self-cultivation? Through checking of these three propositions, we could have a more accurate orientation of “Nine Truth” and “Nine Answer”.
