疫情過後健康照護系統需要徹底改變，尤其必須降低人與人接觸的感染風險，所以遠距醫療與遠端照護將會興起。但這必須先建立一個數據與資訊的基礎架構，以提供新的照護方式。荷蘭大廠Philips正在提倡這一項變革，這也將致使遠距醫療與遠端照護所需的各項光電資訊技術會在這領域有創新的應用，台灣在這方面也有擅長之處。

After the epidemic, the health care system needs to be completely changed, especially the risk of person-to-person infection must be reduced, so telemedicine and remote care will emerge. But a data and information infrastructure must be first established to provide new ways of care. Dutch manufacturer Philips is advocating this change, which will also lead to the innovative application of various optoelectronic information technologies required for telemedicine and remote care in this field.
